I'll take partial blame. You? You worry too much, my old Master. That's how you get greys.

[ he suppresses a chuckles and rubs his temples, closing his eyes for a moment. ]

But there's no war here. Who knows, the greys might retreat.

[beardstrokes]

As convenient as that would be, I don't think that's how it works.

[ Obi-Wan watches him carefully. Anakin thrived in wartime in a way Obi-Wan never could. Softly, he asks ]

So, you're happy now?

[sandhate]

[ He's surprised at the question. It takes him a moment to respond. ]

Sometimes. I suppose. [ He rubs the back of his neck. ] I don't know. I keep thinking this is just a really long mission.

[beardstrokes]

[ He nods. Sometimes, the peaceful nature of the Fleet takes him off guard. ]

It does feel like one.

PADME

[sandhate]

[ he gives her calf another squeeze and gently sets it down, slipping her way too high heel back on. but he's not done with her yet. there's an opportunity here. and there's no longer a need to keep their boundaries and share only secret looks, well hidden touches. they're married and in love.

he leans over her seat, hands on the arm rests. he mirrors her smirk before leaning down the rest of the way and kiss her. ]

[ There's a brief moment where her kneejerk reaction is to pull away. It's been months, sure, but they've never been quite this public. Not in a room full of strangers.

But that impulse vanishes in a split second. She wraps her arms around his shoulders, one hand resting on the base of his neck. Padmé kisses him back with more intensity than she normally would in public. Because this moment is a gift and she knows it. ]

[ He laughs into the kiss at first because he saw the flicker of hesitation and he had felt the same hesitation before. He knew how she felt, even without the bond that connected them. And as she returns the kiss, openly, without a care for the public eye, he sighs. Somehow she's still able to reduce him to that gawky 19 year old.

He breaks away when his back starts complaining. Anakin kneels by her chair instead, his head dipping to place a kiss on her hand before looking up at her again. The original weariness on his face replaced with fire.

His wife is really hot. ]

Hi.

[diplomacme]

[ She smiles warmly.

A little breathlessly: ] Hi.

[ His weariness is gone, and he looks as young as he is. So does she. ]

KITTY

[sandhate]

[ he eyes the heels skeptically. but even as tired as he is, he is admittedly bored out of his mind. ]

I'd take you up on that but I don't think we have the same shoe size.

[ he leans back in the seat and spreads a hand over the ballroom out there. ]

So you're used to this?

[passingthrough]

That's a shame. [She smirks a bit. She hadn't really expected him to take her up on it though.]

Mmm...I guess I am. I mean, this isn't ballet, and I haven't done that since I was a kid. [Because she's so ancient now.] But there were a lot of dances at my last forced multidimensional stay. Usually on the beach because if you're going to have an underwater dome prison with a beach you might as well use it. Not so much for you?

[sandhate]

[ He only vaguely knows what ballet is. But she does seem more comfortable about it than him. This whole dancing business. His ears perks up at that bit about the multidimensional stay and he makes a note of it. ]

I-- Uh, no. This is not something I would normally participate in in my free time. There's a few occasions where I had to go to a ball or a gala. Even then, I was mostly on the sidelines. [ He tugs his coat ] And not wearing these clothes.

This isn't your first time away from your own universe then.

[passingthrough]

I was there for about a year. A very, very long year. [7:1 RP fun! She smiles, not seeming too put out by it.] And now I'm up to almost three months here. The dances were probably my favorite part but the dressing up I could give or take. [She pulls her mask off.] I don't like these very much.

OBI-WAN

[sandhate]

I can't remember all the men I've lost under my command.

[ he was expecting a lecture after that, something about attachment to those who have died. he can't help it; jabiim makes him feel like a padawan again. ]

You were on the list for a while.

[beardstrokes]

I know.

[ Being kidnapped on the field of Jabiim for two harrowing months wasn't his fault. But he still felt guilty about it. It was one of the few times he had left Anakin's side, without meaning to, with no word or comfort. He knew how Anakin felt about being left behind. ]

But I came back.

[sandhate]

[ He's quiet for a moment. He finds another glowing moth, flying curiously near them, and he focuses on that. ]

You're one of the lucky ones.

[ He morbidly wonders if Rex, Master Hett-- Force, if Tru Veld was still alive. It guts him to think they might not. ]

We have been very lucky. I don't think I realized that until we got there.

[beardstrokes]

We have been.

[ There's no denying a lot of moments have been very close calls. Very close. He's never sure how much of it was their skill alone or Anakin's ability in the Force - to turn overwhelming odds into their favor.

Obi-Wan runs a hand through his beard. ]

I don't know if luck has much to do with it. Though I will have to admit - I did not think I would escape.

ALISTAIR

[sandhate]

[ He holds a hand and a wry chuckle. ]

No, no. I'm fine. Thank you. I just want to make sure you're not going to get sick from all of it.

[ Well, maybe he will have one of those sausage things. ]

I take it you don't like the food our ship provides.

[theirinurpants]

Sick? Noooo, I'll be fine. Food's never made me sick.

[ Alistair gives a rather eloquent shrug to the man. ]

It works, but it doesn't taste very good.

[sandhate]

[ He points to a platter of meat skewers. ]

Try the meat sticks. [ He grabs one himself. ] And I'm not sure about that. Eating too much makes you sick.

AHSOKA

[sandhate]

[ His sure steps stops abruptly and he pulls back. ]

[sandhate]

This dance lesson is over. You ruined it.

[ He pats Ahsoka on the arm in a pseudo-comforting manner and moves on to the snack table. ]

[resnipstance]

[Ahsoka pulls back quickly too, confusion written all over her face and in the Force.]

What?! Why?

CHLOE

[sandhate]

[ A scoff ]

I was thinking of something like - "POLLUTION. DON'T DO IT"

[helladoomed]

Iiiiii think it's probably hella too late for that, man.

[And she'll take another puff of her cigarette.]
