When Padme and I got married, we said vows. We vowed to protect each other, we vowed that my life is hers and hers is mine. Just because she has faced down danger before, and will face it down herself, it doesn't mean it would ever sit well for me. Any threat that she faces becomes a danger that threatens our lives. The fact that I could be the cause of any of that makes it even worse.
What do you want to hear, Ahsoka? That I'm fine with the idea that my wife will always be in some kind of danger? That our lives will never be peaceful?
