Mine is being able to make myself intangible at will. [It always feels like a little mini-lecture when it comes up, but she tries for brief and easily grasped. Whether she hits that mark is debatable.]
[ A mutant? She didn't look like the kind of mutants he's aware of; the lost and unsavory types in the lower levels of Coruscant, urban legends of creatures mutated by the planet's nuclear core.
Anakin nods politely though, brushing pass the word and its meaning to her abilities ]

[She smiles softly at his description and chooses not to tease his word choice. After all, being different isn't exactly easy even when it comes with perks.] Mutants come in a lot of different flavors and power levels, so I get that.
Apocalypse had a whole system to categorize our usefulness. [You may get the impression from her tone that she did not approve of Apocalypse or his system.] I was an alpha.
[ Man, and he thought Chosen One was pretentious. Apocalypse sounds just as bad. Good to know that's the level he's working with here. Hearing what this Apocalypse does puts him in a bit more somber mood. ]
We were the most powerful and usually trained. We had the genetic potential to make us worthy to be his minions for committing genocide against anyone weaker. Sign me up! [The sarcasm is strong in this one.]
[ He looks away for a moment. Her sarcasm only makes this more awkward for him. It reminds him of the slave markets. All that's missing are the chips. ]
[She feels bad for making him feel bad at a dance of all things.] Hey, I was one of the lucky ones. I was in a team that fought back against them. I never actually ended up in the breeding pens myself. [She had a narrow escape and then a rescue, but she managed to stay out of there.]
[ It's ok, Kitty. He felt bad coming in to this dance.
He can understand how she might want to keep it light, as if the experience is something you can brush away. So he'll keep it that light too and avoids thinking about his mother in one of those. ]

Sure. There are a lot of X-Men running around. Only one of them is from my reality though. Kurt Darkholme—blue, fuzzy, prehensile tail, pointy ears, three digits on each appendage. Oh, and red mark over the eye and shorter hair than the other Kurt who is also one of the X-Men, just not from my reality.
Not entirely. My companions and I had trained a group to fight against their corrupt government, but we were not to involve ourselves directly in the fight.
[ With no small amount of bitterness ] It would have been an unwise political move to fight for them and against our war time policy.
We were not to act as relief to systems' on the opposing side. Even if the people of that system was suffering from a tyrant rule or something out of their control.
Any aid we give them would be seen as an open attack to that system. Then you'll be facing down Rendili Dreadnaughts before you can signal for evac.
[ He almost laughs. Because it would make sense wouldn't it. It's much easier for it to make sense when you aren't involved. Maybe that was the Jedi's downfall. Anakin sighs instead ]
